Saguaro
The first meeting of the club this year was great! We had quite a turnout for our first meeting and all the students are excited. They began working on posters, signs, and flyers for Club Rush Week. There is a lot of enthusiasm about International Club!
The club collected several bags of items for the students and residents of Alamos following a devastating flood there. Alamos is a Scottsdale sister city.

This year’s officers are:
Emily Warchot, president
Sara Weber is Vice President,
Lizzy Brewer was named Secretary
Yobel Muchang is publicist.
The faculty advisors are Rebecca Evans and Kelly Hardy, both English teachers that are very excited about the International Club.
One of the members of Saguaro International club is Laura Sanchez. Laura is an exchange student from Grenada, Spain. She is quite a tennis player and is looking forward to tennis season. Welcome, Laura.
Last year the club organized a benefit concert for abandoned terminally ill children in Santiago, Chile. The club took this project on to demonstrate that students in Scottsdale could make a difference in the world.

Aqib Rashid, served as the first president of the Saguaro International Club, John Ingraham was the vice president and Nathan Lawson, served as the benefit concert organizer. Spanish teacher Peggy Owen was the faculty advisor in 2007-2008 and has decided to retire from teaching.
